    • Your Ethiopian adventure begins in Addis Ababa, the vibrant capital of Ethiopia, where you can explore the National Museum, home to the famous Lucy Fossil, one of the oldest human ancestors ever discovered. Enjoy panoramic views from the Ento Hills, wander through the bustling Mercato, one of Africa's largest open-market, and experience a traditional Ethiopian coffee ceremony, a ritual of hospitality and culture. 
    • A visit to Dorze Village reveals the unique lifestyle of the Dorze people, known for their woven bamboo houses and cultivation of Enset (also called "false banana"), a staple of local life.
    • Travel south to Turmi and Konso, where you encounter Hamer tribe, famous for their bull-jumping ceremonies, and the intricate hairstyle of Dassanech people in Omorate, who adorn their hair with red ochre and beds. Along the way, stop at Arba Minch and Key Afer to meet the world renowned  Mursi tribe, for women's lip plates  and distinctive body decorations, offering an intimate glimpse into their pastoral lifestyle.

    • Our team will pick you up from your hotel to begin a guided   city tour of Addis Ababa, the capital city of Ethiopia. The first stop is the National Museum, home of Ethiopia, where you will discover fascinating archeologically and historical treasures, including the world-famous 3.2-million-year-old fossil "Lucy". 
    • From there, continue to the vibrant Mercato, the largest open-air market in Africa, where you can experience the lively atmosphere and observe local traders selling spices, grains, handicrafts, and fresh produce.
    • The tour then takes you to the Ento Hills for a panoramic view of the city, offering excellent photo opportunities and fresh mountain air. You will also enjoy an authentic Ethiopian coffee ceremony, a cherished cultural tradition where coffee beans are freshly roasted, ground, and brewed before being served.
    • Lunch will be served at a local restaurant, where you can you can sample traditional Ethiopian cuisine.
    • After lunch, check in to your hotel and  the rest of the day will be at your own leisure.

    • Our team will escort you to Bole International Airport for your flight to Arba Minch, Upon arrival, you will be warmly welcomed by your local guide and driven approximately 22 km into the highlands to visit the fascinating Dorze village. 
    • The Dorze people are renowned for their unique beehive-shaped bamboo houses, some reaching up to 12 meters high, as well as their exceptional  traditional weaving skills, producing colorful cotton textiles widely used throughout Ethiopia. they are also known for cultivating and processing Enset ( False banana), a staple food in southern Ethiopia. 
    • During your visit, you will explore the village, observe daily life, learn about their cultural traditions, and enjoy meaningful interaction with the local community. 
    • After the visit, we return to Arba Minch for an overnight stay.

    • After breakfast, set out on a scenic drive south toward Turmi, journeying through some Ethiopia's most diverse and dramatic landscapes. En route, visit  the Konso cultural landscape,ltural  a UNESCO World Heritage site renowned for its impressive stone-terraced hillsides, fortified  villages, and centuries-old sustainable land management practices. 
    • Discover the famous wooden grave markers known as waka and learn how the Konso people have preserved their traditions and environment for generations. 
    • Continuing deeper  onto the Omo valley, arrive in Turmi, the heartland of Hamer tribe, known for their vibrant cultural identity, elaborate beadwork, and distinctive ochre-coated hairstyles.
    • Experience authentic village life, and, if time allows, witness traditional ceremonies.
    • After this immerse cultural adventure, begin return journey to Arba Minch, reflecting on the rich traditions and striking landscapes encountered along the way.

    • In the morning, drive to Omorate, a remote town in Ethiopia's Lower Omo Valley near the border with South Sudan, to visit the Dassanech (Daasanach) tribe. The Dassanech are semi-nomadic pastoralist who live along the banks of the Omo River and shores of Lake Turkana. 
    • To reach the place, you will be riding a traditional wooden canoe, offering glimpse into the daily life of the community.
    • Afterward, continue to visit the Karo (kara) tribe, one of the smallest ethnic groups in Omo Valley, living in villages that overlook the dramatic cliffs above the Omo River. They are renowned for their elaborate body painting and decorative scarification using white chalk, red ochre, charcoal and natural pigments to create intricate patterns for ceremonies, dances, and courtship rituals.
    • They are also known for their distinctive hairstyling using the red ochre mixed with butter or animal fat to their hair.
    • In the late afternoon, return to Turmi, reflecting on the rich cultural diversity of the Omo Valley.

    • In the morning after breakfast, visit Hamer Village in Turmi area. The Hamer are one most well-known ethnic groups of Lower Omo Valley, celebrated to their vibrant cultural traditions and strong pastoral lifestyle centred on cattle.
    • They are especially famous for the bull-jumping ceremony, an important rite of passage marking young man's transition into adulthood. During this ceremony, the initiate must run across the backs of a line of cattle, symbolising courage and readiness for marriage
    • The Hamer women are easily recognized by their beautiful  leather garments decorated with colorful beads, cowrie shells, and metal ornaments. The style of their hair in distinctive braids coated with mixture of red ochre and butter.
    • After the visit, drive toward Arba Minch. En route, stop at key Afer, a small but culturally significant market town that serves as a meeting point for several ethnic groups of the Omo Valley. Here, we visit the Mursi community, one of the most iconic and traditional tribes in Southern Ethiopia.
    • The Mursi women are known worldwide for the lip plate worn , a cultural practice symbolizing maturity and social identity.
    • after exploring this wonderful tribes, we continue toward Arba Minch.

    • In the morning, our team will transfer you to the airport for your flight back to Addis Ababa. Upon Arrival , you will be transferred to your hotel for check-in.

    • Fly to Lalibela from Bole International Airport ro Lalibela. Upon Arrival at Lalibela, you will be transferred to your hotel to check in. After check-in, we begin exploring the Magnificent rock-hewn churches of Lalibela, a UNESCO  WORLD Heritage Site dating back to the 12th and 13th centuries during the reign of King Lalibela.
    • Your first stop is to  visit the Eastern Cluster of churches and the magnificent Bete Giyorgis ( House of St. George). Discover the finely carved architecture of Bete Amanuel, Bete Qeddus Mercoreus, Bete abba Libanos, Bete Gabriel-Rufael, and Bete Lehem, each reflecting the spiritual devotion and craftsmanship of the 12th century.
    • Conclude at Bete Giyorgis, the iconic cross- shaped church carved from a single block of rock, considered the masterpiece of  Lalibela's sacred complex.

    • After breakfast, you  will Visit the Northern group which represents some of the largest and most architecturally impressive churches. Bete Medhane Alem (House of the Saviour of the World), believed to be the largest monolithic church in the world, supported by massive exterior pillars. Bete Maryam (House of St. mary), one of the oldest and most richly decorated churches, featuring beautiful ceiling carvings and symbolic wall paintings. Bete Denagel ( House of Virgins), associated with early Christian martyrs. Bete Golgotha-Mikael, known for its sacred atmosphere, ancient carvings, and traditionally believed to contain the tomb of King Lalibela.
    • These  churches are interconnected by narrow trenches, tunnels, and passageways carved from solid rock, creating a remarkable underground spiritual complex.
    •  After the tour, you will be escorted to the airport for your flight back to Addis Ababa. Upon Arrival, our team will meet you and transfer you to your chosen hotel.     How do you allocate our  room?

    • We make every effort to allocate rooms based on same gender, unless you are a couple or travelling with friends, in which case we are happy to accommodate shared rooms if notified in advance.
    •  In the event of odd numbers of travellers and where triple rooms are not available, one guest may be assigned a single room. In such cases, room allocation will be  made random.
    • Single rooms are available if you prefer your own privacy; however, a single supplement applies.

    What type of accommodation do you offer?

    • We offer carefully selected range of accommodation, from comfortable 3-star hotels and charming guest houses to premium 5-star properties.
    • Please keep in mind that the star rating in this regions may differ from European standards; however, we personally vet every property in our itineraries to ensure excellent comfort, cleanliness, and service, so you can travel with confidence and peace of mind.


    We are unmarried couple Non-Muslim visitors, are we allowed to sleep in one room in Ethiopia?

    • unmarried couples and non-Muslims: Technically, Hotels may allow foreigners to share a room, particularly in larger cities or more tourist -friendly areas but it is at the discretion of the hotel management.



    Why does one tour offer different meal plans, such as breakfast only, breakfast and lunch, or full board?

    • Meal plans vary within a tour to accommodate different daily schedules and meal preference. On days with early departures or extensive sightseeing, breakfast is usually included for convenience, while lunch may be left flexible due to varying tour times and locations. 
    • On some days, lunch or dinner may be included when the group returns to the hotel together or visit a location where dining is limited.
    • Full board typically offered on days with limited dining options 
    • Offering different meal plans also allows travellers the freedom to choose meals based on personal taste, dietary needs, or energy levels, while helping to manage overall tour costs. 


    Why are there optional tours instead of including everything in the package

    • Optional tours are offered because not all travellers want to participate in the same activities. Including everything in the main package would increase the overall price for everyone, even for those who may not be interested.
    • By keeping certain tours optional, travellers have the flexibility to choose activities based on their own interests and preferences. This way, those who wish to join can do so at an additional cost, while others are not required to pay for expenses they do not want.
    • The optional tours are not part of the main itinerary which is why they are  offered separate at an additional cost.


    Why some of the domestic flight(s) are NOT included in the tour price?

    • To give you greater flexibility. By not including the flight in the package, travellers have the freedom to choose flight times and prices that best suit their budget and schedule, and to book as soon as the flights become available or when fares are most favourable. This approach help keep the tour price flexible and avoids potential changes due to flight availability.


    What if I request you to book my flight?

    • We will be happy to assist you with arranging your domestic flight(s) once you confirm your decision to book. Please note that fares are subject to availability and will reflect the price on the day of purchase. Kindly be advised that a small service fee will be applied to cover the booking and processing arrangements.


    • Once the flight option is confirmed , the full flight cost must be paid in advance. All tickets are subject to airline's terms, conditions, and cancellation policies. We will always share the airline's terms, conditions, and cancellation policy., and also We will always share the flight details and total price for your approval before issuing the ticket.


    Am I able to arrive earlier or depart later than the scheduled dates?

    • YES, you are  welcome to arrive earlier or depart later if you wish. International flights are not included in the package specifically to give you flexibility with your travel schedule.


    .Why travel insurance is a MUST? 

    • Travel insurance is a MUST to keep you protected and give you peace of mind. It ensures you can enjoy your trip  safely, knowing you're covered for emergencies, medical needs, or unexpected changes.


    Can I join the tour if I don't have travel insurance?

    • As per Go Beyond Borders Travel terms and conditions, travel insurance is a MUST. You are required to have it and submit proof to us before the start of your trip to ensure your safety and smooth experience.


    Can you recommend a travel insurance company that covers the trip?

    • Yes, If your travel insurance ( for example, through your bank) does not cover this trip, please let us know. We can recommend a few trusted providers to ensure you're fully protected during your trip.

    • Despite common misconceptions and inaccurate media portrayals, currently considered Ethiopia is known for its very warm hospitality, and incidents involving tourists are rare.     Do safety conditions in  Ethiopia apply everywhere?

    • Not exactly,  while some regions are safe, others remain restricted especially at the border areas.     • Afghanistan, like many  countries in the middle east, has conservative social norms. It is important for LGBTQ+ travellers to respect local laws  and customs. Public display of affection  should be avoided, and discretion is strongly advised when discussing sexual orientation.     • Yes, tourists can travel freely in Ethiopia.

    Is it possible for American citizens to travel to Ethiopia ? 

    •  Yes, American citizens can technically travel to Ethiopia but there some requirement to follow.

    Where Can I apply for my Visa?  

    • You can apply for an Ethiopian e-Visa online before you travel.  Once approved, you will receive the visa by email and it will be stamped into your passport when you arrive in Ethiopia. 

     E-VISA :

    • To qualify you need a passport that is valid for al least six months.
    • Credit or debit card
    • You may also provide about your travel plans, including accommodation and itinerary.


     Can I extend my visa?   

    • Yes- you can extend your visa while you are in Ethiopia, but there are some important conditions. When you enter Ethiopia with a tourist visa ( eVisa or sticker visa), you are generally allowed to request an extension of your stay before it expires. This extension must be approved by Ethiopian Immigration and Citizenship Sercive and it's NOT automatic.


    How much it cost of the visa?

    • The cost depends on the type and duration of stay. A standard tourist eVisa for 30 days (single entry) typically costs around 52USD, while a 90-day single-entry tourist visa is approximately 72 USD.


    What form of payment is required for Egyptian visa?

    • Payment for eVisa is made online during the application process using a credit or debit card. The fee is charged in US dollars (USD).


    How long can a tourist remain in Egypt?

    • A tourist can stay up to 30 or 90 days, depending on the type of visa issued. 


    • Travellers to Ethiopia are advised to ensure they are up to date on routine vaccinations and take certain precautions. YELLOW FEVER  VACCINATION IS MANDATORY if arriving from a country with risk of yellow fever transmission, and travellers must carry an official International Certificate of Vaccination.
    • Malaria prophylaxis is recommended for Southern and western Regions such as Omo Valley, Arba Minch, and Gambella. Consult a travel clinic 4-6 weeks before departure and carry a vaccination card or certificate for entry verification.
