    • Your adventure begins with your arrival in Nouakchott, the vibrant capital of Mauritania, where the rhythm of the Atlantic meets the edge of the Sahara. here, first impressions unfold through sandy streets, ocean breezes, and the colourful pulse of local life.
    • The following day the journey pushes deep into the wild beauty of the Adrar Region, where the  landscape transforms into an endless sea of dunes. 
    • At Azoueiga, the tallest sand dune in Mauritania, golden waves of sand rise dramatically against the horizon. As the night falls, you camp under a blanket of stars, surrounded by profound desert silence- a truly cinematic Sahara moment.
    • From Azoueiga, the route winds toward the lush surprise of Terjit Oasis, where palm trees and natural pools appear like a mirage among the rocks. Another magical night of camping under the stars deepens the sense of remoteness and wonder.
    • The journey continues through Ouadane toward legendary Chinguetti, one of the Sahara's most iconic ancient towns. here, you step back in time exploring its famous old libarary filled with centuries- old manuscripts and admiring the distinctive square Minaret that rises above the desert skyline.
    • At Choum, the adventure takes a dramatic turn at the edge of the Sahara. nearby stands the mighty Ben Amera, one of the Africa's largest monoliths, an immense rock formation that feels almost otherworldly.
    • Then comes the ultimate Sahara experience- boarding the legendary iron ore train for a raw and unforgettable  12-18 hours journey, sleeping on top of the wagon under the stars as the train rumbles endlessly across the desert. This is slow travel at it's most authentic, where the vast emptiness of mauritania unfolds mile after mile.
    • Your route leads onward to Nouadhibou and the dramatic landscape of  Cap Blanc, where desert cliffs plunge toward the Atlantic and wild coastal scenery takes centre stage.
    • Returning to Nouakchott, the experience closes with vivid slices of local life- the lively camel market, where traders and herders gather in a swirl of tradition, and the bustling Port de Peche de Nouakchott, where  colourful fishing boats and the daily catch create one final, unforgettable cinematic scene.

    • You will be met by our team at Nouakchott International Airport. Nouakchott is the Capital City of Mauritania. After a warm welcome, we'll transfer you directly to your hotel for check-in, where you can rest and relax.


    • Starting from Nuoakchott, we'll journey across the Northern desert of the Adrar region  approximately 7 hours journey), making several stops along the way for photography. Upon reaching our first destination- the tallest sand dunes in the country-we'll set up camp.
    • here, amidst the stunning desert landscape, you'll have the opportunity to unwind around the campfire and enjoy a traditional Arabic waterpipe, known as shisha.


    • After a magical night under the stars, we'll drive to the enchanting Terjit  Oasis for lunch beside its lush palm groves and crystal- clear spring waters. Hidden within a dramatic canyon in the Adrar region, this serene desert sanctuary offers cool natural pools, towering rock walls, and one of Mauritania's most picturesque landscapes. 
    • As evening falls, we'll set up camp beneath the stars, enjoy dinner in this tranquil setting, and spend the night surrounded by the oasis's timeless beauty.


    After a magical night under the stars, we'll drive to the enchanting Terjit  Oasis for lunch beside its lush palm groves and crystal- clear spring waters.     • After breakfast, we will drive through the desert to experience its beauty up close. Upon arriving in Chinguetti, one of the town's famous old libraries, home to centuries-old manuscripts that reflects Chinguetti's role as a major center of Islamic scholarship along the trans-Saharan trade routes. 
    • We will also see the iconic Chenguetti Mosque, known for its ancient stone architecture and distinctive square minaret.
    • Finally, we will head to the nearby sand dunes to enjoy stunning Saharan  sunset overlooking the historic town.


    • In the morning, we will drive tot he small town of Choum, where we will explore the famous 2-km choum tunnel, an impressive engineering feat carved though the desert mountains.
    • We will then continue to Ben Amera, the world's -largest monolith. where we will have lunch and take time to walk around and appreciate this massive rock formation rising from the Saharan plain. Afterward, we will head to Tmeimichat to prepare for one of the Mauritania's most iconic adventures: riding thje iron ore train.
    • It's one of the longest and heaviest trains in the world. It typically stretches  between 2.5 to 3 kilometres in length and often consist of more than 200 ore wagons pulled by powerful locomotives. 
    • The train runs along a 704-km route between Zouerat and Nouadhibou, crossing vast Sharan landscapes. its immense size and slow, steady movement apart of what makes riding atop wagons. The journey typically takes 12 to 18 hours.
    • We will arrive by mid-afternoon to secure our place and prepare for boarding. Once the train begins moving, we will set up our mats on top of the ore wagons and settle in for an unforgettable desert journey. 
    • As the train trolls across the Sahara, you will experience vast open landscapes, golden light, and spectacular sunset while in motion- one of the highlights of the trip. 
    • The ride is raw and adventurous: there are no toilets, no seat and no shelter, and iron ore dust is everywhere, so scarves, googles, and warm layers for the cold desert night are essential.
    • Despite rugged conditions, the experience is truly unique and widely considered one of the most memorable travel adventures in Mauritania.


    • Once we reach Nouadhibou, we will head straight to our hotel to shower, rest, and relax after a long desert journey.
    • In the evening, we will  enjoy a relaxed exploration of the city, Mauritania's main Atlantic port known for its fishing industry, ship graveyard, and laid-back coastal atmosphere. We will then visit Cap Blac, a dramatic headland famous for its sea cliffs, ocean views, and the nearby colony of the rare Mediterranean monk seals. 
    • After taking in the coastal scenery and sunset, we will return for an overnight stay in Nouadhibou.



    • After breakfast, our first stop is the Twilit Beach, one  of few places in Mauritania where the Sahara's sand dunes meet the Atlantic ocean. We will enjoy lunch along the way before continuing to Nouakchott.
    • Upon arrival, we will visit the city's camel market and the lively Port de Peche de Nouakchott, where colourful fishing boats line the shore. 
    • Afterward, we will transfer tot eh hotel to freshen up.
    • Later, we will drive you to the airport for your flight back home.

    How do you allocate our  room?

    • We make every effort to allocate rooms based on same gender, unless you are a couple or travelling with friends, in which case we are happy to accommodate shared rooms if notified in advance.
    •  In the event of odd numbers of travellers and where triple room
    • s are not available, one guest may be assigned a single room. In such cases, room allocation will be  made random.
    • Single rooms are available if you prefer your own privacy; however, a single supplement applies.

    What type of accommodation do you offer?

    • We offer carefully selected range of accommodation, from comfortable 3-star hotels and charming guest houses to premium 5-star properties.
    • Please keep in mind that the star rating in this regions may differ from European standards; however, we personally vet every property in our itineraries to ensure excellent comfort, cleanliness, and service, so you can travel with confidence and peace of mind.

    We are unmarried  Non-Muslim visitors, are we allowed to sleep in one room in Afghanistan?

    • In Afghanistan, laws and cultural norms are very conservative, especially regarding unmarried couples and non-Muslims: Technically, Hotels may allow foreigners to share a room, particularly in larger cities or more tourist -friendly areas but it is at the discretion of the hotel management.


    .Why does one tour offer different meal plans, such as breakfast only, breakfast and lunch, or full board?

    • Meal plans vary within a tour to accommodate different daily schedules and meal preference. On days with early departures or extensive sightseeing, breakfast is usually included for convenience, while lunch may be left flexible due to varying tour times and locations. 
    • On some days, lunch or dinner may be included when the group returns to the hotel together or visit a location where dining is limited.
    • Full board typically offered on days with limited dining options 
    • Offering different meal plans also allows travellers the freedom to choose meals based on personal taste, dietary needs, or energy levels, while helping to manage overall tour costs. 


    Why are there optional tours instead of including everything in the package

    • Optional tours are offered because not all travellers want to participate in the same activities. Including everything in the main package would increase the overall price for everyone, even for those who may not be interested.
    • By keeping certain tours optional, travellers have the flexibility to choose activities based on their own interests and preferences. This way, those who wish to join can do so at an additional cost, while others are not required to pay for expenses they do not want.
    • The optional tours are not part of the main itinerary which is why they are  offered separate at an additional cost.

    Why some of the domestic flight(s) are NOT included in the tour price?

    • To give you greater flexibility. By not including the flight in the package, travellers have the freedom to choose flight times and prices that best suit their budget and schedule, and to book as soon as the flights become available or when fares are most favourable. This approach help keep the tour price flexible and avoids potential changes due to flight availability.


    What if I request you to book my flight?

    • We will be happy to assist you with arranging your domestic flight(s) once you confirm your decision to book.     Am I able to arrive earlier or depart later than the scheduled dates?

    • YES, you are  welcome to arrive earlier or depart later if you wish. International flights are not included in the package specifically to give you flexibility with your travel.


    How safe is it to visit Mauritania?

    • Mauritania is generally considered safe for organized trave, especially in well-travelled regions such as the Adrar region, Nouadhibou, and Nouakchott. Most visitors who travel with reputable local guides report trouble-free trips. However, it remans an adventure destination


    What happens if the tour must be cancelled due to safety issues?

    • Visitors should expect routine security checks while travelling in  Mauritania Region , As they are standard across the country. Theses checkpoints are managed smoothly by out local guides, allowing  the  journey to continue without unnecessary interruptions. Their presence is a normal aspect of daily life and contributes to overall security.


    Are  there safety concerns for gays and lesbians travelling to Mauritania?

    • Iraq-Kurdistan like many  countries in the Middle East, has conservative social norms. It is important for LGBTQ+ travellers to respect local laws  and customs. Public display of affection  should be avoided, and discretion is strongly advised when discussing sexual orientation. By being mindful of cultural sensitivities, travellers can enjoy  safe and respectful  visit.     


    Can visitors travel freely in Mauritania without organized tours?

    • Yes, tourists can travel freely independently. Independent travel is legally permitted. You can move between major cities like Nouakchott, Nouadhibou, and Atar without joining a tour.
